My name is Dilek and I was born in Ankara, the capital of Turkiye. It is a unique country, with its culturally diverse people and its reputation for integrating traditions from both Asia and Europe. Coming from a unique background and growing up in a culturally diverse city, I attended Ankara Home Economics School and graduated in 1981.
I became an expert in sewing, cooking, baking, growing vegetable, canning jams and producing milk products such as yogurt and cheese. After I graduated from Ankara Home Economics School, I wanted to share my expertise and knowledge with young girls and I worked in many different cities in Turkiye to teach classes. After some years of teaching, I decided to go back to school to further my knowledge and I graduated as an Agricultural Engineer in 1995. Later on, I was hired by the Department of Agriculture in Turkiye and worked for 21 years.
Furthermore, I decided to move to the USA to pursue my lifelong dreams and I moved to the USA in June 15th, 2001 with my family. I am happily married since 1982 and I am a proud mother of three sons. My oldest son is 26 years old and my twin sons are 15 years old. I am very appreciative of my husband’s and sons’ support and help to my business. Their efforts through my business make me more enthusiastic to further my business. I have worked in different fields such as bakery, restaurants, and in hair saloons to stand on my feet and support my husband to provide a better future to our kids.
It was not easy to start a new life in a foreign country but I have always strived to improve myself and looked for new opportunities. After working for quite some years, I decided to use my cooking skills and I started my own business in 2008. I first attended a market in Fairfax City and I met with many new people and made some valuable friends. I am here to introduce my delicious and best food to my valuable customers.
